Music is woven into the tapestry of Morgan’s life and world. From the outset, music was the catalyst for her creative expression and beyond that, she knew it would be her life. The Chicago-born and bred talent started writing songs at age 11 in a dedicated journal. The paper transpired with her emotive description of life events, in its thrills and its sorrows, and its heartbreak and abandonment-the thrills of life and love.
Her words are true, and come from an authentic place, because she strives for the audience to relate to them. She adds to their lyricism the sonic wave of an intimate fusion of R&B, Soul and Pop. The tone and quality of her music speaks of resilience, carrying and conveying a principal theme: to follow your dreams in a world that attempts to discredit whom you are. |
Morgan aims to reach audiences beyond even the language barrier, singing not only in English but also in French, Spanish and Italian.
Her eclectic musical taste allows her to appreciate a variety of genres, ranging from Alternative/Acoustic music to Neo-Soul and beyond. This is a direct result of her musical influences who include, to name a few, Leona Lewis, John Mayer, Amel Bent, Phyllis Hyman, Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera and Ella Fitzgerald. Morgan has performed widely around Chicago from Refuge to the Regal Theatre, and beyond the city in places like Feast of St. Agrippina in Boston, MA or WBML-sponsored ONE MIC. She has not shied before impromptu performance requests in Paris, Italy or Spain. Her music has had radio airplay and she has even received an interview with "Uncommon Law” radio. |
Morgan has a M.A. in Music Industry Leadership from Northeastern University, in Boston, MA. When she is not living her childhood dream, creating and performing songs across and beyond the country, Morgan initiates the next generation to the art of music. She is the founder of The Dreamchild Initiative, a youth music program in Chicago.
